Like most mobile broadband rental companies, there are 4 steps:
- Order Your Broadband Card (of Device)
- Receive in your mail via courier
- Install software, plug in your broadband card, use it
- Return it via a prepaid mailing envelope.
The process doesn’t change much from provider to provider.
Instead, the major differences come down to the company, how much it costs, the underlying network provider (speed & coverage) and what devices you can get.
RovAir relies on Sprint & Verizon’s mobile broadband networks (you’ll be able to tell which network you’re on based on your broadband card). As such, they inherit their 3G speed & coverage:
|Mobile Broadband Provider|
|Advertised Download Speed||600 Kbps – 1.4 Mbps||600 Kbps – 1.4 Mbps (3G)|
|Real (Tested) Download Speed||600 Kbps – 1.4 Mbps
||600 Kbps – 1.7 Mbps|
|Advertised Upload Speed||350 Kbps – 500 Kbps||500 Kbps – 800 Kbps|
|Real (Tested) Upload Speed||250 Kbps – 425 Kbps
||300 Kbps – 550 Kbps|
