Summary
What’s Good:
Sierra Wireless does us right this time. Not only does the AC597 fits ExpressCard slots, but it fits PC Card Type II slots as well with an included adapter. Freebies are always great. High EVDO Rev. A speeds plus good Sprint coverage and high connectivity are always welcome.
What’s Bad:
Alltel still does them one up with the Kyocera KPC680. They just went one step further and included a USB connector. Nothing else to gripe at here.

Bottom-Line:
Honestly, it’s a great card and at $50 in your pocket, it’s even better. It’s a good deal that’ll have people at the office going “What’s that you got in your laptop there?”. Nice.

The Sierra Wireless AC597 aircard whispers CEO-at-work to the occasional passerby. Essentially its a rehash of the Sierra Wireless 597 in a different form. Its compact, streamlined design commands attention without getting in the way. Sprint’s colors definitely work for it on this one. On to the nitty gritty.
EVDO Rev. A speeds will get your work done, let you access email and chat on Skype (VoIP) all at the same time. The included PC Card adapter just about ensures that it’ll fit whatever laptop you’ve got (if it’s been built in the last 5 years). Unless its a ultra mobile PC that only takes USB, you’ll probably be okay.
You can put $50 in your bank account by getting this card. Not too shabby.
