Novatel S720 PC Card Review

Summary

What’s Good:
The Novatel S720 is sleek, compact, and connects to EVDO Rev. A networks for DSL speeds on the go. Since it’s with Sprint, it’s on the largest mobile broadband network.
What’s Bad:
It’s a PC Card without any adapter to fit USB or ExpressCard slots. A lot of laptops no longer have PCMCIA slots. If your laptop is relatively new and compact, it may not support it.

Bottom-Line:
It’s a good card that’ll connect fast. It’s pretty chic and will probably go unnoticed while plugged in. If your laptop supports it, go ahead and get it.

The Novatel S720 will definitely match your Brooks Brothers two piece. Weighing in at 2 oz., it might as well be.  Novatel is no stranger to the game and delivers on what business users are looking for. It’s a professional looking card that connects at EVDO Rev. A speeds of up to 3.1 Mbps to get work done…or pass time watching the Colbert Report on Comedy Central online.

Whether you’re in the airport or cruising along I-95, the PC Card format of the S720 will stay out of the way. After all, isn’t that the point? If you have to think about how you’re getting stuff done…then you’re probably not getting stuff done.

This is a winner for Sprint providing you have a PCMCIA Type II slot to plug into. If not, you’ll have to look elsewhere for your internet fix. If you have a Ulysses Grant handy you can pick up the Novatel S720 today. (Hint: He’s the guy on the fifty dollar bill).
