According to J.D. Power and Associates, they are not the best nor the worst. If you were to follow their marketing campaign, you’d think they were Robin Hood.

The Fine Print
The good ole folks at The Consumerist(pop-out) have a finely tuned system on getting insider information. One nice piece is an internal document that explains to reps how to handle you when you want to disconnect. The short version basically states that:
(1) Military personnel cant get their service put on hold at no charge to them for 18 months
(2) If you bought equipment from a reseller, and want to return it within 15 days, go back to them.

Bottom-line: Alltel customer service has definitely improved. Holding the number two spot, it’s definitely a choice if customer service is a high priority.
