Sprint Mobile Broadband Charged Me $590 For Going Over 5 GB Limit
by Daniella Duncan
I WISH I had found your site before signing my contract.
I went to a local Radio Shack and saw all the great Sprint phones and the Broadband cards. The "service rep" did not make it clear to me that I was CAPPED at 5 gigabytes per month.
So unknowingly I have been using my Sprint Broadband service non-stop and since I make websites I have been downloading and uploading and FTP like crazy. Well you can imagine what my face must of looked like when I opened my Sprint bill today.
My phone for Unlimited Usage was the $99 that they told me it would cost. But for my 2 Broadband cards not only was I charged my so called UNLIMITED $50.00 a month broadband access but $500.00 over 5g on one and $90.00 over 5g on the other.
I just about swallowed my teeth.
I had no idea I was CAPPED to 5g. The way the Radio Shack rep presented the package to me was that the phone and broadband were UNLIMITED!
I called Sprint today and told them I felt that Radio Shack had misrepresented their Service plans and that I would pay the bill but that I would be canceling the Broadband service.
Not only will I have to pay this bill but the $200 early termination fee.
I feel like a SUCKER! I wish I had found your site sooner. Is there ANY provider out there that will give you UNLIMITED broadband access?
You have been so informative on your site but just a suggestion. Maybe you should let consumers know what CAPPED means and how you will pay out of the nose if you go over that CAP!
Thank you for your time and consideration into this matter and for the help you have provided many an in the dark consumer.

Editor's Note: The Mobile Broadband Buyer's Guide explains what 5 Gigabyte caps are, spells out how much they can cost you and how to avoid them.
Don't let overage charges become a 2nd mortgage on your house.
