Readybroadband (also branded as ReadyMobile PCS), runs their prepaid mobile broadband service on Sprint’s network.

While it isn’t as flashy and sleek as Cricket Prepaid Mobile Broadband, it provides service for the kind of user that only will need mobile broadband occasionally.

Plans & Prices

ReadyBroadband Plans

Remember how prepaid cell phones used to work?

I’m not talking about the ones that work like post-paid phones where you pay month to month.

The ones I’m talking about are the bare bones prepaid cell phones. The ones where you buy phone cards to ‘top up minutes’ when you ran out.

Well, their plans are practically identical to that kind of system. Instead of buying minutes you buy data in Megabytes (MB). Get the details on Readybroadband plans.

3G Speed & Coverage

ReadyBroadband 3G coverage

As the service runs on the Sprint mobile broadband network, their speeds and coverage are identical. To sum up, Sprint advertises:

“average download speeds of 600-1400 Kbps, peaking at 3.1 Mbps, and 350-500 Kbps average upload speeds, peaking at 1.8 Mbps. Similar to DSL, and about ten times faster than using a dial-up modem”

Read on for the full details on what real world speed & coverage is like.

AirCards & Broadband Cards
ReadyBroadband Cards

Have multiple cards up for purchase. Unfortunately, they don’t tell you which of the bunch you’ll get for the $80 you’ll shell out.

While they don’t list the actual product/model numbers of the cards, based on the provided pictures, it looks like they only offer USB broadband cards as “USB 2.0 slot” is a requirement.

I have had readymobile broadband usb card for 2 years. Great service without a contract. I have the personal phone number to their IT software engineer. He is very helpful. They have a new interface which is a bit quirky so I have stayed with Mobilite. Works great.
