Prepaid Mobile Broadband Is Too Expensive

by Sam Dutton
(Houston, TX)

Signed up because I wanted to see if I could find a pay-as-you go wireless broadband service which I intended to use for only 1x/week needs.

I couldn't find any decent options; Verizon and others have structured their pay-as-you-go plans to be too expensive for occasional use to be interesting to me & I don't need a regular monthly service.

Even Cricket with it's fairly inexpensive monthly plan is too pricey for my occasional use needs.

Also, you should update AllTel options - they no longer exist. I don't think you can get to any Alltel web pages except for residual plan support pages.

The course helped by showing me what's out there, and helping with understanding the main variables in wireless broadband selection.

What I'd like to see is someone give a no-frills pay-as-you go (prepaid is fine) plan that is cheap. So far, this hasn't been developed. Cricket does have a prepaid card they sell at Walmart, but it's actually more expensive than their monthly plan of $40. They say that you get a higher limit as a result (they just slow way down, but don't stop, data transmission past the limit), but once you activate it, is activated for a month at a time.

Your E-Course content, however, is fine.

Thank You,
Sam Dutton
