Hi,
It's Marc.
At first, I thought to tell you about myself and Mobile Broadband Reviews using the usual rigamarole.
Rather than bore you to death, I decided to spice things up.
This is less about me and more about you. This site is here to serve you. If it doesn't, then nobody wins. In keeping with that, I did an awesome interview on the "Network Marketing For Smart People" radio show. Listen or read as I get asked the tough questions. Enjoy.
Full Content Sites Are For Online Network Marketers Too?
Is it really possible to have a full content site surrounding your network marketing products and services? Is it simple and effective? What are some of the benefits? I invite back Marc Aarons, author and creator of "Mobile Broadband Reviews.com". Today he gives us an update on multiple streams of income from his website originally started to just attract leads and now has evolved to a cash cow!
Host: Hello and Good Morning everyone, my name is Malika, I'm your host today on our radio show from getpaidtoprospectonline.com. Today I get to interview one of my closest friends and business partners, Marc Aarons.
How are you doing today?
Me: Great
Malika: Today we're gonna hear your story and how you got started in network marketing and online and what you're doing today. Give us a little background on yourself. Who are you?
Me: Well, my name is Marc (laughter) and I'm from Jamaica. I came to the United States to get an education. I came here and decided I wanted much more than that. I've been involved in everything from network marketing to most recently, internet marketing...which is, completely awesome.
Malika: Completely awesome huh? So give us a little background on how you got involved in internet marketing. I know we had a previous show where we touched on that but how about some detail for our audience today.
Marc: You know, great question. I came across a program called SBI! (SiteBuildIt) that shows you how to build a website from scratch.
I thought about building one about Jamaica. I decided nah, there's a lot of that out there already. Then, I got an aircard, a little device you plug into your laptop that lets you get online anywhere in the country.
Broadband cards were the coolest thing in the world to me but extremely frustrating. I kept thinking which one I should get. How do they stack up against each other?
I then said, you know? There are probably a lot more people out there just like me trying to find that information...wondering what's the best aircard, what's the best mobile broadband carrier, what's the best broadband card to get?
So I did some research and the numbers were ridiculous.
Malika: Of the amount of people who were looking?
Marc: Yes. The number of people who were providing that information was also, so small. It was like the perfect opportunity. This is it, let's go.
Malika: So what you did was you just had a curiosity about a particular product, you identified a problem that you had and did some research to see how many people were looking for the solution you had and how many were offering that solution and saw an opportunity.
Marc: Yup. Basic supply and demand. Whole lot of demand, little bit of supply.
Malika: So tell us about those first couple of days. Getting that site up.
Marc: I did a lot of brainstorming. I spent a week to 2 weeks before putting the home page up. Figuring out where am I gonna go with this, what's the demand, is it feasible and all of that. And once I put up the home page, I forgot about it for about a month (laughter).
I spent a week to 2 weeks before putting the home page up...once I did, I forgot about it for a month"
Malika: Is it that the home page just took a lot out of you or what?
Marc: I had finals in grad school at that time. Website's great but just gotta get those classes out the way. What's interesting is that the first month it was up; it drew in a whopping 2 visitors for that month. Here's what really interesting, the next month, after I came back, that number grew. I said "What? I didn't even do anything and more people are visiting the site. I like this. That's just great".
The first month drew in a whopping 2 visitors. The next month, it grew to 22...I didn't even do anything and more people showed up. I like this".
In March, 22 visitors came.
Malika: You know something? I think I was one of those 2 people! [who visited the first
month] (laughter)
Marc: Yeah, you know what? That 2nd one was probably me. (laughter)
Malika: Well let me ask you something Marc. Why did you decide to make a full content website?
A lot of people starting in a home based business, network marketing business or even any kind of business usually do not create full content sites.
Marc: Well, after going through SBI!, they highly recommended creating a full content site. When people go online, they're looking for answers. They either know what they want already or they're doing research to figure out what they want.
With a full content site, you can give people what they want [answers]. Or you can help them do their research then give them what they want.
If you just go directly, you can help them do research but you've got a whole more credibility when you have an entire site talking about what they're researching.
It builds the trust factor and helps presell them before they even decide to give you their money.
Malika: Why not just build a front page, home page or capture page, get their email addresses and sell them through your autoresponder?
If you have a website, you get to diversify your income streams. You can put Google Ads on there, [make money] with an autoresponder, sell your own products or partner with affiliates.
Marc: Well, you could do that. And a lot of people make money that way. But if you have website you get to diversify your income streams. You can put Google Ads on there, do the same thing with the autoresponder, develop your own products and sell it on [your website], partner with affiliates for related products.
So that's 3 income streams right there. Passive income from Google, affiliates and your own product.
Malika: I like the way you put that. One thing I've noticed especially in network marketing and home based business forums is people arguing over how they're gonna monetize. Me in particular, I just wanted to sell the product online. I didn't even know what monetization was.
To consider that I could attract people who are just doing their research and be the person who provides that information to your potential prospects upfront instead of just trying to get their information and sell them on the backend.
A lot of people don't understand being able to monetize a site through Google Adsense, MLM products and services, or affiliates. For some, it seems such a foreign concept to give your customers the complete package and options. You make money either way right?

That's exactly right. I love it.
Marc: That's exactly right. I love it. Especially Google Adsense. I don't know how come we didn't meet before.
Malika: I'm sure Adsense would tell you that you didn't have yet what she needed for that kind of relationship (laughter).
Marc: Well let's live in the here and now then.
